Update from the Kitchen Garden Club

  • Secondary News

We have our solar-powered irrigation system up and running to keep our vegetables alive during the summer season. It was great fun in the sun reassembling the system from last year and testing that it worked with the combination drip and sprinkler system. All the water is rain harvested from the roof of the shed, so we are totally sustainable.

So far our beetroot, onions, carrots, peas, tomatoes, courgettes, potatoes and array of herbs are doing very well. We also created bamboo climbers to support our peas and tomatoes. Our strawberries and radishes are nearly ready to eat.

We look forward to selling smoothies, waffles and planted herbs at the Summer Fayre and hope for your support. You'll find us at the back near the Secondary buildings.
