Year 3 students create land art
25 March 2026
Year 3 students enjoyed outdoor adventures at Natur&Ëmwelt recently, where they took part in creative and immersive land art workshops. Using natural materials such as moss, bark, beech nuts and oak leaves, students worked together to build beautiful artworks inspired by local bird species, including great tits, jays and green woodpeckers. Their imaginations (and fingers) were fully engaged as they explored textures, colours, sounds and shapes found in nature.
Throughout the day, the children used all their senses to discover the woodland surroundings. They took part in team challenges, joined in lively “Who Am I?” quizzes about local wildlife and showed excellent collaboration and curiosity from start to finish.
All four Year 3 classes experienced a full range of Luxembourgish weather, from bright sunshine to sudden hail showers, but their spirits never dropped. The children stayed positive and enthusiastic.
Travelling by public transport, the students represented the school beautifully with their good manners and positive behaviour. The trip offered not only hands‑on learning and artistic exploration but also a memorable day of teamwork, adventure and resilience.
Thank you to the teaching teams and Natur&Ëmwelt leaders who made this enriching experience possible.
