Generation Euro winners visit Frankfurt

24 June 2026

St George's Generation Euro winners delved into the world of money during a visit to Frankfurt this month, part of their prize for winning the competition.

Eleonore, Adriana, Zoi and Eileen had the opportunity to engage directly with leading financial institutions and deepen their understanding of central banking in practice.

The students visited Bundesbank Money Museum, where they were guided by the museum’s manager and gained insights into the role of the Bundesbank and the evolution of money.

They also visited the Frankfurt School Centre for Central Banking, where they toured the campus and attended a presentation on monetary policy communication delivered by a postdoctoral researcher. This was followed by lunch with senior academics and central banking experts, providing an opportunity for discussion and insight into careers in economics.

The highlight of the visit was an afternoon at the European Central Bank, where students received a guided tour of the visitors’ centre and exclusive access to the 27th floor viewing platform, press conference room and staff working offices. This experience brought their competition work to life, allowing them to see first-hand how monetary policy is implemented at the highest level.

This prestigious, an Generation Euro competition, organised by the Bank Centrale du Luxembourg, challenges students to apply economic theory to real-world monetary policy decisions.
