Girls' football team heads to France

St George's Years 5 and 6 girls participated in a football tournament in France on Saturday, 13 June, representing the school with passion and determination.

Over seven games, the girls showed an outstanding attitude from start to finish. They listened carefully to instructions, worked hard for one another and displayed resilience in every match. Whether things were going their way or not, they kept smiling, kept battling and kept making us proud.

The team finished third in their group and secured seventh place overall in the tournament. This was a brilliant achievement against some very strong opposition and a testament to their teamwork, determination and commitment throughout the event.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to play against the girls from FC Metz. St George's girls were impressed to come up against such a well-known club and there was plenty of excitement before kick-off.

Most importantly, the players represented the school brilliantly on and off the pitch. Their passion, positive attitude and commitment were evident in every game. 

We are already looking forward to next year's national and international football opportunities.
