Senior girls volleyball team compete in Geneva
- Secondary News
The senior girls volleyball team travelled to Ecolint Geneva on Friday, 17th November, for the school’s first volleyball competition.
Despite a 20-hour day on the Friday, the girls performed excellently out of the blocks, beating the International School of Monaco two sets to one in the first match. The next game against Aiglon of Switzerland was also closely fought but St George's lost in the third set before facing the eventual champions from Cobham, London.
This put us in the fifth-place playoff on Saturday where we beat the hosts in two sets, before setting up a fun mixed friendly with the Monaco team. Every member of St George's 12-person team did us incredibly proud, with great leadership from team captain Camilla C and leadership on the court from our Year 11 club players Anna M and Flaminia M.
