We have many clubs starting after the Easter holidays, check them out here:

Basketball Club

Name: Basketball

Day/Time: Wednesday 15:15 – 16:30

Supervisors: Mr Wurtz

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 5 – Year 6

Description: Come and experience the fun and excitement of learning and playing Basketball. Fun and energetic club for boys and girls alike. 

Creative Writing club

Name: Creative Writing club

Day/Time: Thursday 15:30 – 16:30

Supervisors: Mr Miller

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 10

Description: Come and write with us! Creative writing club will offer you the opportunity to share, discuss and improve your writing with other budding authors in the school. You will have the opportunity to enter international competitions and write at your best. We will look at the work of famous authors and poets as we try to find our own unique voice. If you love writing and want to take it to the next level, this is the club for you!

Cricket Club

Name: Cricket

Day/Time: Thursday 16:30 – 17:30

Supervisors: Mr Browne

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 1 – Year 2

Description: Provides an engaging and fun introduction to Cricket, whilst teaching children of all abilities the basic skills of Cricket. Participants develop fundamental motor skills which set them up for a lifelong involvement in physical activity, as well as important social skills including teamwork and being a good sport.

Supervision of student between 15:15 – 16:30 will be responsibility of the parent’s unless registered for After-School care

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Name: Dungeons and Dragons Club

Day/Time: Monday 15:30 – 16:30

Supervisors: Mr Stazicker

Cost: Easter – June: 130 Euros

Year groups: Year 7 – Year 9

Description: Do you like board games, card games, pencil and paper games, table top role-playing games, strategy games or tile- based games? If so, come to table top gaming club! (Every Wednesday after school)

Get involved, learn rules, and game with friends in weekly meet-up to play table top games and to have fun away from screens.

We can play a wide variety of classic games like Dungeons and Dragons, Battleships, Monopoly, Magic the Gathering to more contemporary games like Carcassone, Machi Koro and Munchkin.

Games cover a wide range of skills and abilities from new to table top gaming to advanced miniatures gaming such as those from Games Workshop. There are games for those who want to game co-operatively rather than competitively and work together to solve puzzles and mysteries.

As a member of the club you can even suggest or bring your favourite table top game and show the club how to play.

The possibilities are endless, why not roll the dice and come along!


Football Club

Name: Football

Day/Time: Wednesday 15:30 – 16:30

Year groups: Year 2

Description: This club is a fun way of advancing the students’ awareness of football where they will increase their individual skill levels as well as developing an appreciation for teamwork and sportsmanship.


Humanities News and Reviews Club

Name: Humanities News and Reviews

Day/Time: Thursday 15:30 – 16:30

Supervisors: Mr Burrowes / Mr Ellison

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 11

Description: Following on from the detailed expression of interest by Year 11 students this club will be for Year 11 students interested in having an outlet for their wider reading and knowledge around humanities subjects. Political and economic issues and debates will be the main focus, but this leads naturally into focusing on linked issues within the media, geography and history.

The topics chosen for further research or debate will be decided by students themselves with the help and input of Mr Burrowes and Mr Ellison. Individual or small group reports or summaries on issues and case studies of interest can be published through one or more of a newsletter/journal, blog, web page, podcast or vodcast/video.

The club will be held weekly, 330-430pm, on Thursdays in the Media room, B122, to enable direct access to iMac computers and recording equipment with editing facilities where required.

Rugby Club

Name: Rugby

Day/Time: Wednesday 16:30 – 17:30

Supervisors: Mr Browne

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 1 – Year 2

Description: Providing an engaging and fun introduction to Rugby. Sessions are strictly non-contact and focus on motor skill development including running, jumping, throwing and catching. Focusing on the core values of Rugby including respect and team work. Boys and Girls welcome.

Supervision of student between 15:15 – 16:30 will be responsibility of the parent’s unless registered for After-School care

Weight Training and Fitness club

Name: Weight Training and Fitness club

Day/Time: Tuesday 15:30 – 16:30

Supervisors: Mr Cooper

Cost: Easter – June:  130 Euros

Year groups: Year 9 and above (this includes Year 10,11,12 and 13)

Description: Students in the Weight Training and Fitness Club will have the opportunity to improve their strength and overall level of fitness. Through a combination of weight and circuit training, students will be given the opportunity to develop muscular strength and endurance in the biceps, triceps, deltoids, quadriceps, latissimus dorsi and pectoral muscles. An additional focus will be abdominal core strength.

Strength training is important for both boys and girls to maintain a healthy weight and contribute to overall physical and mental wellbeing.

Club will be held outside so appropriate clothing necessary.

 

Sign up for clubs will be open between Friday 19th March 2021 – Thursday 25th March 2021 on the CHQ booking system via My School Portal (Your username is your email address)

and click on the CHQ Clubs and Bus Bookings Button on the Home Page (this is single sign):

Clubs will be allocated randomly and not first come first served.

Confirmations will be sent out by Friday 9th April 2021
