Ms Nuttall's highlights 2024-2025
2 July 2025
As I reflect on the year, I always find it almost impossible to capture all the wonderful moments and choose just a few. Across every year group, the standard of work is outstanding.
More importantly, whenever I visit a class, the children are happy, engaged, and show a real love of learning. We couldn't ask for more.
This year, we’ve focused on active learning and making meaningful, real-world connections. I’m continually amazed by the knowledge, empathy, and understanding our students demonstrate. For example, during a Year 5 session with the Red Cross, children met refugees and heard their stories. They immediately grasped how difficult it must be to live in a new country without family or friends, where your culture may not be celebrated. This empathy exemplifies a St George’s student – responsive, caring, knowledgeable, and kind. They truly want to make a difference.
Outdoor learning has been a highlight, especially for our youngest children, who have enjoyed regular forest school visits. Their endless curiosity shines as they explore and investigate the world around them.
Food technology has come alive this year, with students creating exciting dishes linked to their learning. The aromas from the food tech room have had everyone’s stomach rumbling! It’s been such a success that we plan to expand these sessions into MP2 next year.
A real highlight has been working with our secondary students. It’s been heartening to see them take responsibility, reading with our primary children and sharing their cultures and festivals. They are excellent role models and show our younger students who they can become.
A much-loved aspect of Primary is the immersive curriculum — from medieval days and explorers’ day to debates, sensory experiences, and interactive assemblies. These real-life experiences bring learning to life.
Our students consistently demonstrate a philanthropic spirit — from shoebox appeals to environmental initiatives, recycling, and fundraising. St George’s students truly care about the world they live in.
Finally, I’d like to thank all our incredible staff — from our cleaners and caterers to lunchtime supervisors, ASC workers, TAs, LSAs, admin staff, teachers, and leaders. Your dedication is deeply appreciated. To those moving on to new adventures, in Luxembourg or beyond, thank you for your time with us. We hope to welcome you back one day as part of the St George’s alumni.
Wishing all parents, staff, children, and our community a wonderful summer holiday.
Best wishes,
Claire Nuttall
