Year 9 Residential Trip 2018 – Skiing in Italy
30 January 2018
Our Year 9 students recently had the opportunity to go skiing with the school on their annual residential trip. This year we travelled to the Italian resort of Sestriere in the Vialattea ski region. The ski slopes were in fantastic condition following the recent weeks of heavy snowfall and we had clear skies and sunshine most of the time whilst skiing, which made for a really enjoyable experience.
We had some fabulous skiers within the group but this was a completely new experience for about a third of our students. All students made good progress over the week but the most noticeable certainly came from the beginners – a large number of whom managed to progress from the nursery slope to skiing blue runs comfortably by the end of the week!
Staff and students appeared to enjoy the trip and certainly all improved their skiing techniques, I hope some will get the opportunity to ski more in the future.
