Year 7 trip to Vianden 2015

On Friday 24th April, Year 7 students spent the day visiting Vianden Castle, one of the largest and most picturesque Medieval residences in Europe. During the visit they had the opportunity to view the castle's most remarkable rooms, the defensive features and living conditions through the ages. The students have been studying the development of the castle through the centuries in class and this visit helped them to really visualise their research.
During their visit Year 7 played detectives, they investigated the features of different castle styles that could be discovered in Vianden Castle - this coincided nicely with a project they will be completing in school. After the visit students will be able to link the history of the castle and the village of Vianden to the geographical features that encouraged their growth and development.
Overall the trip was a great success, the students made the most of their day out and returned full of inspiration and valuable knowledge. Year 7 are all raring to start their projects in class from a whole new perspective.
