Year 5's Shackleton, the musical

24 October 2017

Year 5 students should be extremely proud of their performance in Shackleton, the musical! On Friday evening friends and family came to watch the performance depicting the 1914 endurance mission, where Ernest Shackleton and his crew attempted to cross Antarctica via the South pole.

The students made the performance thoroughly interesting and entertaining to watch - even the parents joined in and danced like penguins at the finale! Year 5 have been studying Shackleton in class and this performance really helped to engage their learning.

A huge thank you to Ms Bydder for directing the musical aspects, to Mrs Tyrrell, Mrs VantHot-buijs and Mrs McCabe for designing the scenery, props and costumes and to Ms Williams for the special effects and lighting.

The play was written by Miss Watson with support from Mrs Collins.
