Year 5 studies Lux women in WWII
14 June 2022
Year 5 classes participated a fascinating workshop this week looking at the resistance, persecution and imprisonment of Luxembourgish women during World War II.
The workshop was delivered by Dr Kathrin Mess from the Luxembourgish Institute for History and Social Affairs. Dr Mess conducted research on the Ravensbrück concentration camp and the 200 Luxembourgish women who were deported to Ravensbrück because of their work in the Luxembourgish Resistance.
The workshop explored the lives of these women in the concentration camp and how they managed to support each other to survive.
