Year 4 residential offers exciting learning

24 April 2024

Year 4 students travelled to Bollendorf, Germany, for their residential trip from 16th to 19th April, and participated in many exciting outdoor learning opportunities and team-building exercises.

The group stopped at Echternach en route for a walk around the picturesque lake and plenty play. After arriving at their destination, the students became 'Forest Explorers', learning about the forest, creating nature-based works of art and taking part in team-building activities.

During their Adventure Day, they explored the forest from top to bottom, seeing incredible rock formations and learning about the prehistoric fossils found in this region. On an incredible 12km hike, our young explorers crossed the River Sure and hiked to Kalekapp Viewpoint (back over the Luxembourg border), including passing through the narrow

Mandrack Passage. The children had fun crawling through the passages and exploring the forest and rock formations.

On the final day, the group visited the Dinosaur Park where alongside a guided tour, the students learnt from a working palaeontologist and participated in excavation activities.
Throughout the trip, Year 4 showed exemplary behaviour, determination, resilience and teamwork. They had a wonderful time and should all be incredibly proud of themselves.
