Year 13 students prepare for next steps
20 January 2026
Year 13 students are starting to finalise their plans for life beyond school, navigating an impressive array of opportunities at home and abroad.
The UK UCAS application deadline closed on 14 January, swiftly followed by the Numerus Fixus deadline for the Netherlands the next day. Although the application cycle is still in its early stages, the Key Stage 5 team reports that students have already received a number of offers from prestigious universities across Europe.
These include institutions such as Maastricht University, Twente University and Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands; University Carlos III of Madrid, CUNEF Universidad and IE University in Spain; University of St Andrews and University of Edinburgh in Scotland; as well as Exeter University, University of Manchester, University of Warwick, University of York and University of Bristol in the UK.
St George’s alumni are currently studying in more than 20 countries worldwide and this year’s applicants have again demonstrated an impressively global outlook. Applications have been submitted to leading universities including ESCP Business School, ESSEC Business School and Emlyon Business School in France; Bocconi University, University of Turin, Luiss and Venice International University in Italy; as well as institutions in Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Canada and across the Netherlands. Applications to universities in Ireland, Poland, Czech Republic and Australia will be submitted later in the academic year.
We are immensely proud of our students and excited to see where their journeys beyond St George’s will take them. We look forward to sharing further updates as these plans unfold.
