United World Schools Guest Speaker Workshop 2018

11 March 2018

On Friday last week, Year 10 students were involved in a workshop as part of their English lessons with Suzanna Worth from United World Schools (UWS). In partnership with UWS St George’s sponsors a school in the village of Pea Cambodia where previously there was no school and children were growing up without an education and instead were forced into child labour. Previous fundraising activities by St George’s students enabled  UWS and local villagers themselves to build the school in the village in Ratanakiri province  Northern Cambodia. Through a series of discussion, debate and role play activities  students learnt much about the project and the changes that it is making to the children in Ratanakiri in terms of empowering them with the education they desperately need  in order to foster more challenging opportunities for the future.
