Together on World Maths Day 2020
10 November 2020
In a joint project between the Mathematics, ICT and Arts Faculties, students from Year 8 designed and created their own mathematic board games which they shared with students from Year 7. Some games featured 3D printed characters, one involved a catapult and many offered edible prizes. Once the rules had been explained, students had to use their maths skills to win. Everyone had an enjoyable time and many declared that the time had passed too quickly. “Among Us” was chosen as Year 7’s favourite game, followed by Pickle Run and Celebrity Adventure.
“My favourite game was World Cup because I enjoyed tossing the ball with the catapult”
“I really enjoyed playing Pickle Run because it had a range of questions and the game was interesting”
“I liked Skeleton Digger because the people were nice and it was fun and challenging”
“My favourite was the Pizza Game because it was well-prepared and fun”
