Students practise first aid techniques

Year 6 students started their new humanities topic 'Time Heals', learning about how healthcare and medicine has changed throughout history.
To introduce the topic, students had a first aid workshop with Nurse Ross. They learned important information, such as what the acronym DR ABC means when assessing a casualty, how to put someone in the recovery position and how to help a person who is choking. The students were also reminded about the numbers to dial to make an emergency call. They also had great fun practising chest compressions on the Resusci-Anne dummies.
