Student account of the Year 8 trip to Austria
23 June 2015
On Monday 15th of June, Year 8 travelled to Mariazell, Austria. After 12 hours in a bus we arrived at 6:00pm. Most of us were tired so we had dinner and went to bed. Over the next 3 days we did all sorts of activities. The first day we played sports outside and went on a treasure hunt in Mariazell. It was about a 40-minute walk but it was worth it as we got to have ice creams at the end. The second day we went to the lake and went on boats on the Erlaufsee and we walked Mariazell again to buy souvenirs. This was fun. The third day we went to the lake in the morning and went on the boats again and we had the choice to go swimming in the lake. Only a few people did. After lunch, the same day we went swimming in the indoor pool at the hotel and then we went outside to do sports again. We also went bowling, which was quite hard. I asked several people what they liked best: ‘Really fun, especially the lake’, ‘Playing bowling against Mr Cooper’, 'Playing football with Mr Edwards’, 'Mrs Cooper and Mrs Mawhinney coming past us on the lake in a motorboat’. I would like to say thank you to Mr Edwards, the trip leader, and all the other teachers for making this a wonderful trip.
