St George's Summer Fayre 2015
29 June 2015
This year’s Summer Fayre was a great success, with over 500 people attending the event in bright sunshine this Saturday 27th June. The Fayre was opened by Her Excellency Mrs Walpole (the British Ambassador to Luxembourg) and she very kindly visited all our stalls after the official opening.
The numerous School performances which included the school’s own George and The Dragons band, Double Entendre (our adult choir) and the Student choirs, Musical theatre from Year 7 & 8 students, Hip-Hop performances from Primary students and the Celtic Sprites were greatly successful and entertaining.

The theme of the fayre reflected the true internationalism of the whole school community. The hard work and generosity that went into planning the 15 national stalls, the huge number of activities, games and the wide variety of food and drink on offer was simply tremendous. The raffle prizes donated included items such as a signed print from local renowned artist Ben Carter and Chapter 1 books tokens.
The wide range of fun and games organised by the School’s Council and Parliament and run by the students from both Secondary and Primary areas of the School were able to raise a substantial amount of funds for their chosen charities – Save the Children (Nepal Earthquake) and Unity Foundation.
The success of the event was a result of both the detailed planning in advance and efficient operation on the day (as well as a large amount of good humour and fun!) and the School would like to thank all our parent volunteers from the Friends of St George’s as well as all the student and staff volunteers who made this event so special.
We are proud to have such a close-knit international community at St George’s.
