St George's students monitor rare solar eclipse
20 March 2015
On Friday 20th March, St George’s students had the very rare opportunity to monitor the solar eclipse - the best eclipse in Luxembourg since 1999.

Secondary students set up a projector using a pair of binoculars on a tripod, this reflected this historic event onto a black sheet of paper and resulted in an impressive silhouette for everyone to see. Some students built contraptions out of cardboard boxes which projected the sun’s image through a pinhole onto the card.

Primary Students created their own projections by using two sheets of paper, the sun's image being projected through one sheet on to the other.
This event will certainly be remembered by students for years to come!
