On Wednesday 10th December both Primary and Secondary students took part in commemorating the ‘Christmas Truce’ that occurred along the Western Front on Christmas Eve in 1914. Students reenacted this moment by each side singing Silent Night in their respective languages, they then played a football match, England winning 2-0. The New World Theatre Group kindly lent us WW1 helmets which certainly added a realistic vibe to this heartfelt commemoration.
