St George's Career Lunches 2017

09 February 2017

Every year St George’s Secondary school hosts career lunches organised by Sixth Form students. The student Career Lunch ambassador invites professionals into school to talk to students about their current job position and their career paths. These lunches are an excellent opportunity for students to ask questions and to seek advice helping them to make those all-important career choices.

St George’s Career Ambassador has already organised several career lunches:

Physiotherapy
Firstly we had the privilege of welcoming Mrs Susanne Rehmert, a highly qualified physiotherapist who followed several different career paths until she found her vocation. She is currently working with different patients varying from cancer survivors to children born with severe problems. Mrs Rehmert shared important information and advice regarding her profession as well as giving tips on how to realise goals.

Geodesy
Secondly our school welcomed the Vice-President of the University of Luxembourg Mrs Tonie Van Dam who has also Geodesy, physics and many more branches of science. She gave us a lot of great advice about universities as well as giving an insight in what it would like be to study in these fields.

Greek Ambassador
More recently our school was honoured with the presence of the Greek ambassador of Luxembourg Mr Georgkalos Theodoros. He informed our students about the advantages and disadvantages of such an occupation. In addition, he was very open and answered many of the challenging questions from our students.
