St George's Art Exhibition 2015

25 May 2015

St George’s Art exhibition is one of many highlights of the school year. This year staff, students and visitors were invited to admire the vibrant and talented artwork on display throughout the Hamilius and Barthel buildings.

The students put together a comprehensive and colourful array of artwork which made the guests gaze in awe. A particularly impressive piece of work was by Primary students working together to decorate a 2 metre mosaic life-like alligator using coloured ceramic squares.

Foundation and Early Year students were encouraged to experiment and explore on their own initiatives, using a wide range of materials, techniques and processes; whilst older students created their own portfolio of work based on themes of their choice. One that stood out in particular was an impressive series of paintings from a Secondary student based on an African theme.

A massive thank you goes to the art teachers for all their hard work over the past few weeks. A lot of time and effort goes into the set-up of an art exhibition but it was truly worthwhile. Well done to everyone who contributed, it really was a delight to view all the impressive pieces of art throughout all the year groups of the school.
