St George's and the chocolate factory

08 October 2014

Year 3 students had an exciting time visiting the ‘Genaveh Chocolaterie’ as part of their IPC unit on Chocolate. The lucky students were taken on a tour of the chocolate factory where they learnt all about the magical ingredients in chocolate and how it is made; they even had a little taste of 100% cocoa which - not surprisingly - was not to everyone’s liking.

Students managed to get their hands sticky in the chocolatier’s kitchen by creating their own chocolate lollies and squeezing chocolate into moulds, watching how logos and pictures are placed on chocolates, seeing the large chocolate mould-making machine and even having the chance to decorate their own chocolate masterpieces which they can proudly bring home today.

Year 3 students returned to School very excited about their school trip - it was a delicious way to learn more about their topic!
