Sports Days at St George's

16 July 2014

It’s the last week of term – time for a traditional Sports Day at St George’s International School!

Students in Primary and in Secondary took part in the activities over three days – Key Stage 1 students participated on Wednesday, 9th July, Key Stage 2 students on Monday, 14th July and Foundation and Secondary on Wednesday, 16th July.

Depending on the age group, students participated in a variety of different athletic activities. The School’s four academic houses – Earth, Fire, Wind and Water – competed against each other for the winner’s cup at the end of the event. Depending on their placement, the teams also win overall House points which are tabulated along with various merits (Good Work certificates, Gold Awards, Subject Certificates) to determine the overall House winner on the last day of term.

Sports Days have been a long-standing tradition at St George’s. They allow students the chance to work as a team with the other members of their house, enjoy a day of sunshine and fun, and emphasise the team spirit that makes St George’s such a unique place to learn. Parents were also invited to the Foundation and Secondary Sports Days and truly enjoyed watching their children participate.

Congratulations to Primary's winner Earth and to Secondary's winner Fire!
