Space Dragons out of this world
12 June 2024
The school playgrounds were filled with cosmic excitement as we hosted a spectacular space party. The celebration marked the triumphant conclusion of the Mission X "Train Like an Astronaut" challenge, and we are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of our students.
Over the past few months, our dedicated students have been completing a series of scientific and physical missions as part of the Mission X challenge, organised by the European Space Agency (ESA). Their efforts paid off, as our St George’s team, the Space Dragons, soared to new heights by winning first place in Luxembourg and achieving an impressive fifth place globally.
These challenges were an integral part of our physical education (PE) lessons and After-School Care activities. The children embraced each task with enthusiasm and determination, demonstrating remarkable teamwork and perseverance. Their commitment to the programme was truly inspiring.
To honour their achievements, we hosted a space-themed party filled with a variety of cosmos-related activities and interactive stands. The event was a massive hit with the children.
The space party was not only a celebration of the Mission X challenge's completion but also a showcase of the hard work, creativity and spirit of our students and staff.
Congratulations to the Space Dragons for their outstanding performance, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a stellar success. Here's to many more exciting adventures and achievements in the future.
Keep reaching for the stars!
