St George’s participated in the U13 age group COBIS Games in Dubai last week. The team of 14 athletes, 7 boys and 7 girls, competed against 19 other international schools from around the world in swimming, athletics and football.

Despite facing some very talented opposition, the St George’s students performed admirably with girls captain Ciara B winning gold and silver medals in the shot and discus events respectively. Madeleine B-O won a bronze medal in the high jump. The boys won the tier 2 football final with captain Charles E scoring 7 goals in the competition.

At the Gala Dinner to finish the event the St George’s team were announced as finishing in 8^th place overall and were voted the most sporting team by their opponents to receive the COBIS Games Fair Play Trophy.
