Primary Alicante Invitation Cup results 2015
18 May 2015
The Primary COBIS team had an extremely successful trip to Alicante last week, where they competed against seven schools from Spain, Turkey and Kazakhstan in the King’s College Invitation Cup. In the football competition, both the boys and girls teams placed in third position, with the boys team being edged out of the final only by goal difference. In the second day of competition St George’s and King’s College Madrid fought hard to gain the top position. The St George’s team were edged into second place by the very strong athletics team from Madrid. However, we gained gold medals in boys’ high jump, cricket ball throw, 200m, 400m and 800m and in the girls’ 400m. Silver medals were won for boys’ 4x100m relay and high jump and in the girls’ 800m and 100m. Points were also gained in the finals with 4th place in the boys’ long jump, girls’ high jump and girls’ 400m, 5th place in girls’ 800m, 6th place in boys’ 100m and 7th places for the boys’ 400m and 800m.This meant that we came second in the overall competition, with King’s College Madrid taking the Invitation Cup trophy.
We are all extremely proud of the team who demonstrated all of our school’s personal learning goals, both on and off the sports field.
