New sports season begins
10 September 2025

Saturday, 6 September, saw the St George's sports season kick start with a bang as our rugby teams took on Walferdange at both Under 14 and Under 16 level.
A first taste of school sport and rugby for many, the Under 14 match didn't disappoint. With tries galore from our combined Years 7, 8 and 9 team, our basketballers showed their offloading skills in attack, while those familiar with the contact side of rugby showed their tenacity in defence. Losing by a score at the death, Rome wasn't built in day.
The Under 16s really got stuck in with the collisions against a team vastly more experienced. Our inexperience at the breakdown showed, which will give us something to focus on for the season ahead. Going down eight tries to two is fantastic result for this group of students who stepped up to the mark with very limited preparation ahead of the match on the first weekend of the school term.
