Ms Nuttall's Christmas message 2025
19 December 2025
There is nothing more magical than working in a primary school during the festive season. This time of year is filled with awe and wonder, and the children’s excitement is truly infectious. It is a joy for all of us to share these moments with them.
Across the school, we have enjoyed a multitude of events that have helped the children explore and celebrate the many festivals and traditions that take place at this time of year. We were all especially impressed by the Year 1 show, Penguin Pete, which followed Pete’s journey around Luxembourg. The way the script was thoughtfully tailored to our local context made it feel particularly special. The children were adorable, and their acting and singing were exceptional – a wonderful way to celebrate the season.
Meanwhile, in Milepost 2, the children experienced an incredible Egyptian Day. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to immersing themselves in the ancient world made the day vibrant and memorable.

In the Early Years, the children have been busy making gingerbread men, who turned out to be quite mischievous! After a series of mysterious happenings, the gingerbread man himself eventually visited the class to share tales of his adventures. Reception has also been exploring a variety of celebrations from around the world and is already planning its very own class festival for next term.
As always, hilarity has filled the halls thanks to the annual staff panto. Despite it being the “worst-kept secret” in the primary school, the staff worked hard to prepare a fun-filled performance for the children on the last day of term: a tradition that never fails to delight.
Our students have also been spreading joy beyond the school walls. It has been touching to see our older pupils visit the hospice, where their singing is always so warmly received. They also performed their impressive music at the British Chamber of Commerce Christmas lunch alongside the Secondary students. In addition, our children have proudly contributed to the festive tree at Belle Etoile – always a highlight for anyone passing through the centre.

We were also delighted to welcome Kleeschen to school. Even with his busy schedule on the 5th of December, he made time to visit our younger children in Early Years and Milepost 1 to share stories about Luxembourgish traditions.
It has also been wonderful to see Primary and Secondary students come together for some festive collaborative work. The children thoroughly enjoyed creating seasonal cards side by side, strengthening friendships across the school and spreading even more joy through their artwork.
Finally, it has been inspiring to see our Milepost 3 students engaging thoughtfully in their work on homelessness, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges others face, particularly at this time of year. Their empathy and maturity are something we are extremely proud of.
Our Christmas shoeboxes are also arriving in great numbers, a testament to the generosity of our community and our shared desire to spread festive spirit to others.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday period, whatever your celebration and wherever you may be travelling.
Warmest wishes,
Claire
