Moustache Day 2015 at St George's
26 November 2015
Brace yourselves - it’s the hairiest time of year! Today Secondary students and staff have been spreading the Movember spirit throughout St George’s with their creative movember cakes, sweets, stuck-on-facial hair and moustache painting skills.
For those who are unaware Movember is a movement for men’s health - it is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Throughout the month of November St George’s has been raising money to support staff in growing their facial hair as well as students coming up with creative ways to raise money for the charity.
The famous ‘Movengers’, a group of Secondary staff, have reunited for the final time. They put down their razors for the month and collaborated on a hilariously entertaining video edited by one of our students. (The video will be available shortly as well as the amount of money raised)
Movember originally started in Australia in 2003. Since then the movement has spread across the world, more than five million people have participated by either growing/making a moustache themselves or supporting someone else who has. We believe Movember is a good way of educating students about health in general, not just men’s health.
