More than 800 attend Summer Fayre 2024

12 June 2024

Our Summer Fayre last Saturday was a resounding success with more than 800 people through the gates. Alongside international stands selling food and treats from Ukraine, Italy, Pakistan, South Africa, the Nordic countries and more, crowd favourites included the tombola, Sponge the Teacher, bouncy castle, party games, British cake stand, health and wellbeing stand, dance and music performances, Celtic Fish and Chips, Danish hot dogs and the ice cream van.

The environment was at the forefront of our minds this year as we implemented ways to make our event more sustainable. Some of the initiatives included asking visitors to bring their own cups for the lemonade stand, selling shopping bags made from recycled plastic bottles, inviting Sea Shepherd to host a stand, and selling secondhand books. Secondary's Kitchen Garden Club also hosted a stand selling food made with produce the students had grown at school.

Our annual Summer Fayre charity event relies on the support and generosity of the St George's community. Thank you to everyone who attended. A big thank you also to those who volunteered their time to help set up and clean up, those who organised stands, supervised activities, and carried out any of the numerous other tasks involved in staging such a large event. We appreciate you all.
