Key Stage 5 Residential Trip to Portugal

02 October 2016

From the 19th to 23rd September Sixth Form students along with 5 members of staff went to northern Portugal for their annual bonding residential trip. Students gain a great deal of learning experience on these trips, it is also an excellent opportunity for students and staff to get to know one another outside of the classroom.

The students visited Gerês, the only national park in Portugal. They had great fun trying out all the activities available - this included: high ropes, orienteering, bread making, archery, go-carting and rock climbing.

The Youth Hostel provided great food and comfortable accommodation and everyone was well looked after by the activity guides.

The students spent the remaining days in Porto, where they embarked upon a river cruise under the famous bridge built by Gustav Eifel. All the students used their free time to discover the culture of the city for themselves. Overall, Sixth Form students had a fantastic time learning and getting to know one another in a new environment. They intend to bring their renewed team spirit back into the classroom for a busy year ahead.
