Key Stage 4 Drama Evening 2015 Success

09 December 2015

The Key stage 4 Drama Evening that took place last Thursday was a great success. The students were delighted with the turnout, over 50 audience members composed of governors, parents, staff and students attended the show.

The repertoire piece the students performed was called ‘Missing Dan Noland’ by playwright Mark Wheeler. The students were very privileged to have Mark come in to school and work with the students at the beginning of the academic year.

The play is based on the true story of a young man called Dan Nolan who went missing after going out for a night fishing with his friends. The play features a strong message for young people about alcohol consumption and the importance of friendship. Students performed extracts from the play. Students studying IGCSE Drama in Year 11 performed two long pieces, one from the play and one which they wrote themselves. They also appeared on stage performing solo monologues in a variety of styles and genres.

Students studying GCSE music in Year 10 performed their first solo recording piece for their coursework.

The students did a fantastic job and the audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Many thanks to all those who took part, produced and attended the show.
