Happy St George's Day 2015!

23 April 2015

The School was full of red and white today as students, staff and special visitors celebrated St George's Day.

Students had their own tea parties in classrooms, while Year 3 and Year 5 students performed excerpts of  musicals for special guests, which included the British Ambassador and Patron of the School, the Honourable Alice Walpole, Irish Ambassador Peader Carpenter and Japanese Ambassador S.E. Madame Atsuko Nishimura.

School Principal Dr Barkei, British Ambassador Alice Walpole, and Head Boy and Head Girl gave wonderful speeches about the significance of St George's Day for our School and for the world, and guests were also - as is our tradition - asked to vote on their favourite dragon artwork.

The ceremony was followed by a traditional English tea party, which of course included scones with clotted cream and jam.

Happy St George's Day from everyone at St George's!
