GIN Conference 2019

On the 28th-30th March, a group of Year 12 students represented the school at the 14th Global Issues Network conference. The conference theme was 'Committing to our world's most vulnerable People, Places and Resources'. There was a range of inspirational keynote speakers including Muzoon Almellehan, Stylianee Parascha, Ayesha Keller, Harrison Wavell and Kesz Valdez, as well as a range of impressive workshops held by students themselves. Milena, Chanah and Sophie delivered a workshop called 'Poverty is like punishment for a crime you did not commit' focusing on child poverty in Europe, while Sacha, Sophia, Ellen and Ayah presented 'The Paradox of Politics', a workshop exploring the political challenge of maintaining votes while achieving long term environmental sustainability.
