Following in Romans' footsteps
25 Jaunary 2023
Year 5 spent four days in Trier last week, learning about all things Roman in the culmination of their autumn term humanities topic 'The Rockin' Romans'.
The students learned about the history of Trier and the daily lives of its inhabitants during the Roman times through guided city tours and visits to the museum and Roman baths.
The students also had fun on a photo treasure hunt of the city, a visit to the wildlife park and an evening around the bonfire, toasting ‘stockbrot’ and singing campfire songs.
Although the first day was very cold and wet, the weather improved and the students and their teachers enjoyed blue skies for most of the week. The school staff were very proud of the way the students behaved and witnessed great progress in the students' personal and social development during the trip.
