Friends of St George's hosted their first Freshers and Followers welcome event last Saturday. There was a fantastic turn out with roughly 200 people attending the event. There were 28 stands for people to browse around whilst also a great opportunity to walk around to get to know other parents who may share similar interests. The stands represented a variety of industries such as; fitness, news, charities, social networks, book shops, parent support groups and many more. New and existing parents greatly appreciated the initiative since it enabled them to not only meet one another but also get to know staff members and the welcoming atmosphere which St George’s strongly maintains throughout.

About Friends of St George's: Freshers and Followers was organised by the Friends of St George’s which exists primarily as a social and networking group and endeavours to organise regular social events, enhance parent and community integration and enable fundraising. All staff and families of the school are automatically members of the Friends of St George’s and can become actively involved by coming forward to volunteer for any activity or to be a member of the core committee.
