Secondary students and staff served coffee and cake to the construction workers building the new gym to say thank you for their hard work.

The group chatted with site manager Arthur, who has been helpful in providing wood pallets for school projects, and also met team members from Cape Verde, Montenegro, Ecuador and Portugal.

Year 9 student Carlota helped translate conversations from Spanish to English, while Melissa and Raquel provided French and Portuguese language assistance.

"It is incredible to think what the gym team are building in front of eyes. It is also quite staggering how they work no matter the weather. They are a very skilled and inspiring team," said Ms McHugh, St George's sustainability coordinator.
