Conspiracy Author, Jon Robinson Visits the School

04 May 2017

On Thursday 4th May, St George’s Secondary school welcomed author Jon Robinson to the school, Mr Robinson presented his debut conspiracy thriller ‘Nowhere’, a fast paced novel about a group of teenagers who are kidnapped and placed into a high security prison in the middle of nowhere. They are all told they are dangerous and violent criminals, however none of them can remember committing any crimes. Who has put them there and how will they break free?

During the presentation Mr Robinson got the students thinking by creating ‘what would you do’ scenarios. He asked them to imagine themselves in a similar situation to the students in his novel.

Mr Robinson’s talk was very insightful, he shared his experience of rejection and success and he also touched upon psychological studies, he discussed subliminal messaging and showed various video clips to illustrate his ideas. After the presentation students had the unique opportunity to purchase signed copies of his book.

During the afternoon, Jon set up workshops with small groups of students, these workshops were centred on creative writing and generating ideas enabling the students to unlock their imaginations and release their potential.

Thank you to Jon for taking the time to present to the students as well as work with smaller groups. It is such an inspiration for the students to talk to and listen to successful authors.
