Ceremony highlight of cemetery visit

Year 5 visited the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial last week as part of their topic work on Luxembourg during World War Two.
They spent a fascinating two hours at the site, finding out about the lives of the many servicemen and women buried there and learning the significance of the symbols on some of the memorials.
The group also took part in a special ceremony, which involved spreading sand from Omaha Beach into the carved name on one of the headstones. It was a very informative and interesting visit.
