Budding poets find rhythm
02 May 2022
Rapper and poet Rob Bradley led workshops for Years 7 and 8 students recently, inspiring them to use a basic rhythm as the basis for poetry.
Mr Bradley asked students for a selection of random words and then gave an improvised rap performance including suggestions as wide-ranging as cheesecake, capillaries, pomegranate and helicopter.
Even the most reluctant writers were enthusiastically involved in the workshops and many came forward to perform their poems aloud. Every poem was unique and Mr Bradley was always on hand to offer advice and encouragement.
