Bollendorf Residential – A Students' Summary
07 June 2016
The bus drive to Bollendorf was not very long, and when we arrived we immediately packed our lunches. Without walking very far, we were able to walk through an extraordinary natural art gallery – the forest! At night, we went on an amazing night walk with a very interesting guide.
Wolfing down our breakfast the next morning, we prepared our lunches for the next day. We took the bus to the Teufelschlucht area where we made fire without matches, we built shelters, used compasses and maps, and we cooked delicious bread on the fire. We also were able to walk through the canyons that used to be a sea-floor. When we were walking back to the bus it started to rain so heavily that there was a small flood. We were lucky because this was the worst rain we had all week.
On our third day we took the bus to the Vianden Adventure Park. It was an incredible place where we had to complete a series of high rope courses. After lunch we met a guide who gave us a tour of Vianden, where we learned all about its interesting history. We finally went to a park where we had to be careful because there were two swans protecting a baby swan near all the play equipment.
On the last day we packed our suitcases, had breakfast and made our lunches. We took the bus to the Henri Tudor museum where we learnt about Henri, his life and his inventions. We also made some electric robots and flowers! As an added bonus, we got to see the cyclists in the Tour de Luxembourg go by the museum at lunch!
