Year 6 Trip to Schengen

Year 6 were thrilled to have the change to visit the village of Schengen as part of their fascinating History topic, ‘Modern Europe’. At the European Museum the children saw the actual signed Schengen Treaty and impressed the museum staff with their prior knowledge of borders, key EU facts, figures and people. The students particularly enjoyed the flag challenge, printing a Schengen passport and a finding the EU monument on the esplanade. To cap it all off, the children spent some moments touching a section of the Berlin Wall and taking in its significance to Germany and Europe between the years 1962 and 1989. Really not that long ago at all…
