St George's News
Find out what's happening at St George's!
Update 6th February 2020:
More news on the football tournament this morning. We needed to have 3 teams of 5a side for the indoor tournament; with St George's having only 13 team members, we had to borrow a player from IS Milan for two of our teams. The borrowed Milan players played very well with our pupils and new friendships were made. In the end St George's won 6 games, lost 5 and drew 1.
We then spent playtime and snacktime with the ISM year 6 pupils before returning to the hotel to change out of our PE kits. After lunch back at the school we took the tram into Milan. Our first stop was at the Duomo, an impressive building both inside and out. We then walked to the Science and Technology Museum, where we viewed the Leonardo da Vinci Gallery and the Space exhibition. The children loved the interactive activity that involved launching a satellite to orbit the moon or Mars. We also had a quick look at the submarine ( it was too late in the afternoon to go inside the sub) and the Vega rocket before heading to the gift shop. We then took the Metro to the Moscova station for an ice cream then wandered around and bought a few souvenirs before a typically Italian meal at Rossopomodoro.
Then we took the tram back to the hotel and all the children are tucked up in bed now.
Tomorrow we will have a swimming gala at ISM, followed by lunch at the school, before we head back to the airport for our flight back to Luxembourg.
