Find out what's happening at St George's!
In the educational sector women dominate the workforce; however, there remains large gender disparities particularly at senior leadership level. WomenED brings women in the educational sector community together and urges them to be that ‘10% braver’.
Last week St George’s hosted its second WomenEd BeLux event after the official launch in June 2019. This WomenEd event #Powerhouse proudly welcomed over 50 women from over 20 different countries, attendees had the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals over a class of crémant and listen to the inspirational expert educators; Sue Aspinall, Vivienne Porritt and Liz Free. These three women took to the stage to share their inspirational journeys to leadership. This event was a fantastic opportunity for participants to make new connections, share new ideas and learn from one another.
Ever wondered what teachers get up to on a Saturday morning?
The expert educators Sue, Vivienne and Liz extended their stay in Luxembourg to give powerful learning sessions to our staff on Saturday morning. Staff explored topics such as; ‘how to lead a team effectively’ and ‘how to show up as a leader and bring the best out of others’. The speakers challenged assumptions enabling staff to think hard about the impact they have on learning and ask questions such as ‘what is the purpose of a school development plan? These sessions brought out terrific dialogue and creative planning sessions.
A huge thank you to Sue, Vivienne and Liz for taking the time out of their busy schedules to share their invaluable insight on leadership in the educational sector.
