Find out what's happening at St George's!
At the beginning of 2019, Laurent's wife told him that they would climb the Mont-Blanc. He thought it was as a joke, but to his surprise, she made all the arrangements to make it happen! It was a full week of mountaineering (completely different from his usual trail running).
The climb took place in September with a high altitude guide, the 1st mountain hut was at 2700m in Italia, the 1st peak at 3600m a 2nd at 4061m (Gran Paradiso) and finally a climb to 4810m in 2 days + 1 day back.
They learned that every kg counted to get up there, but bringing St George's School flag was a great honor, at the top the sun was shining there was no wind and it was only -2°C at that altitude - exceptional!
It was great experience and a very memorable 50th Birthday gift!
