St George’s International school offered a parent workshop about safer internet in February this year. As there were many more questions that could not be answered during the workshop, Mr Pinchen from BeeSecure Luxembourg is kindly offering another Parent Evening to our parents from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5. We are very pleased to announce, that we will hold a Parents Privacy Salon on the 26th October and a follow up session on the 10th November all online.
Here a brief outline:
Parenting/caring in relation to the Internet can be very stressful for many reasons, one of them being that parents and carers are expected to guide their kids through the online world while they often feel they don’t have the appropriate skills and knowledge themselves.
This is highlighted more than ever in the current situation (summer 2020) where many are working from home, simultaneously home-schooling their kids, creating more stress and where online cyber attacks, scams and hoaxes are increasing dramatically.
The Parents Privacy Salon aims to provide training in basic Internet privacy/security concepts both related to parents/carers as well as their children. Based on the model of the Privacy Salon which has been helping people in Luxembourg to deal with online privacy since 2013, the workshops will enable parents & carers to understand and protect their own privacy, and consequently be better equipped to help their kids navigate the complex, exciting world of connected communications.
