This exciting project saw the Year 6 students work with the Music department to decorate the percussion instruments. Inspired by the work of famous artists, the student worked in teams to paint the Cajons, using both acrylic and watercolour paint. The results are fantastic and will be enjoyed by many students in the coming years. The groups produced posters to give more information about the artists they selected. They also made videos about the work.
Learning how to attach axels, wheels motors, pulleys and a homemade switch, the students designed and made excellent skateboards and cars. It was our first time to make skateboards and we successfully solved problems and found solutions together.
Observational drawing was our focus before the lockdown, the students were drawing excellent interpretations of famous Cathedrals, inspired by the fire which did much damage to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
