New Amnesty club promotes human rights

  • Secondary News

Students from Years 10 and 11 have established a school Amnesty International Youth Club.

The club meets every Tuesday lunchtime to discuss and promote campaigns for human rights, supporting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 5 Gender Equality and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities.

Students created an information board to promote causes for human rights and discussed the club with the Secondary Extended Management Team.

The students are planning a bake sale to raise funds for a campaign for the protection of anti-corruption human rights defenders in Africa. They have also created a presentation to be shared during Secondary tutor form time to spread awareness on human rights.
