Mural charts journey of Secondary student

A mural documenting the journey of a St George’s Secondary student from Year 7 to 13 has been unveiled in Lentz building.

The mural was painted by St George’s Alumni Ana Morales, who graduated in 2013. Initial plans for the journey were created by Head of Key Stages in Spring 2021. Ms Morales then worked with students to determine key events for each year group and visualise each step of the journey.

Work on the project started in June 2021 and took four months. This included Ms Morales holding workshops with students to guide them through the process of how she works as a professional artist.

Highlights on the mural include residential and international trips, school musical, work experience, Merite Jeunesse, exam results, prom and graduation.

St George’s Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr Charlton, who was present at the unveiling, congratulated Ms Morales on her mural and career as an artist, and said he looked forward to seeing more of her work.

Ms Morales's website is currently under construction but some of her work can be viewed here
